Training provides an overview and introductory information for providers and families on strategies to support expecting moms and connecting families affected by Postpartum Depression to the appropriate resources.



Course Overview


Pregnancy can be one of the most thrilling, yet vulnerable time periods of an expecting family’s life. There are moments during pregnancy that can be both overwhelming and exciting, and all expecting moms could benefit from additional support. Join me as we dive into Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders. An overview will be provided, along with a discussion about racial disparities, maternal mortality, risk factors, and ways to support the families affected by these disorders. 

 

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Define and identify Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders Identify risk factors for women who develop Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders  
  2. Discuss and explore racial disparities and microaggressions within Perinatal Mental Health Identify and discuss ways to support families affected by Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders  
  3. Next steps and connecting families affected by Postpartum Depression to the appropriate resources in the DFW Metroplex
