Training provides an overview and introductory information for families and providers about oral health and pregnancy from both a dentist and OBGYN.

Course Overview


Being a parent is hard. Kids don’t come with instructions. It doesn’t matter whether you are pregnant or beyond, teen, dad, partner, friend, or a foster parent, the goal is the same. We all want the best resources, services, and support needed for our kids to grow up healthy and safe.  

The Don’t Put Off Prenatal Care: Medical or Dental session provides information about: 

  • Pregnancy myths 
  • Finding a provider, types of providers, and their roles (OB-GYNs, midwives/doulas, dentists) 
  • Prenatal visits and what to expect 
  • How oral health impacts the well-being of mom and baby 

 

Learning Objectives: 

  • Identify how mouth health is connected to a child’s overall health  
  • Discover tools for growing healthy kids  
  • Increase knowledge on how to navigate parenthood at different stages
