Course Overview


This presentation goes through a parent's journey of engaging in their child's development and if the child needs it, how to go through the diagnosis/evaluation process. A high level overview is given on developmental milestones and monitoring, developmental screenings, and information for parents to be able to advocate for their children if they must go through the diagnosis process.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will learn what developmental milestones are.
  • Participants will understand parents role in developmenatl monitoring.
  • Participants will understand how cultural roadblocks/misconceptions affect a family's path to diagnosis.
